Terrain
For my game I am going to set it on an island, it is going to look all vegetated as an island will look but will have different man made building plotted over the island with one area being dedicated to a town, another dedicated to an army type place with bunkers, another area with a lab and observatory and more dedicated areas.
Below are images of what the island would most likely look like.
This video allows me to research islands with lore and build a story around it implementing rumours about the island into my own game whilst also adding my own ideas making it a unique piece of fiction based up trivial ideas.
Architecture
My architecture in the game will vary massively, I will have vegetation such as huge trees and natural objects for the woodlands, houses and shops for the town, bunkers and army barracks for the unclassified area and labs with futuristic architecture for the science area.
Below is an image of a lab I could use for research, it includes a lot of the usual architecture you would expect to see whilst having a unique look and flare to it.
Below are vegetated architecture I can base the woodlands off.
Below are images of towns and harbours I can use for inspiration when building the civilised area of the town.
This is an image of a bunker I could use for architecture of classified area.
Objects
Objects in my game will range from being modern to scientific and such to match each area of the island. One unique object though will be the meteor, this is an object that the player will be able to interact with to allow for him to see memories of past events and uncover secrets to help him progress through the game and uncover the islands secrets.
Characters
Main character
My main character will roughly be aged around 18-22, I want him to be a young character as to allow me to create a more relatable character that I can base some of myself into. Below are pictures of different characters, I will either be taking characteristics from these characters, personality traits or clothing ideas to place onto my character.
The style of clothes the character below wears look quite smart for a casual teen to wear.
Hiccup is a great character to base my main character off as the personality he has reflects the personality I want to give my character. His facial features and hair are also quite similar to how I want my character to look.
Nathan Drake has a good style to base my main character off, his choice of clothing is something I could base for my characters choice. He also has a whitty sense of humour which I am thinking about giving my character. He also has a good hairstyle I could base my character's off of.
Booker Dewitt also has a great choice of clothing I could give my character, I am also thinking of giving my character the same motives that Booker has to keep him pushing on through his mission.
I chose a realistic photograph to get an idea of what my main characters clothes could look like from a different perspective. The clothes this person is wearing could be the clothes I base my character on wearing.
Cat
The cat is going to be a companion type creature that follows the player as they journey around the island. It will show up and disappear at certain points of the game, I am also considering giving it a voice to talk to the character to add to this mystery in the game and to allow for a narrative type character. Below are pictures that show what kind of breed and design the cat could have.
The first design I could base my cat off of is a tabby cat, this is because I have experience with tabby cats due to owning two of them allowing me to base my experience off of them. This drawing of a cat is detailed and allows me to see what it would look like from a drawn yet realistic perspective.
This second cat is a Bombay breed, it is a full black quite and is a very good breed to base the cat in the game off of as they are usually known for being quite mysterious. The way the fur is rough and the eyes being a big blue colour are huge features I have considered giving my cat to give it a more mysterious look.
NPC
I am going to have ghosts/spirits that appear in front of the player when they interact with the special types of rocks scattered around the island. Below are different designs I could give to the spirits that the player will see.
These first two images show the spirits from the bioshock game, they are very translucent and are more brighter in some area of the body rather than other giving them a more traditional ghostly aesthetic.
These next two images are from the game everybody's gone to rapture, these spirits differ greatly from the aesthetic of the previous ones as they aren't translucent, instead they are made from bright yellow lights with swirls and dots.
This image shows something known as the avogadro. It is a creature created from lightning that has a human aesthetic but replaces the flesh and bones with lightening streams running through its body. I could use this as an enemy that hunts the player down.
Mystery man
I am thinking of having a mysterious man show up at crucial parts of the game, his identity will be kept secret and he will be an intriguing character for the player to encounter. His dress sense will be quite smart, an example of what he will be wearing is a suit, fedora, smart shoes etc. He will also be hiding his identity and so his clothes will be a big part involved with helping that to happen.
Radio voice
Another character involved in the game will be the voice of a woman, she will be communicating with the character over a radio. Below are images of how the voice could be communicated and what devices could transmit the communications.
This first image shows a broadcasting station, this could be the location the female voice is staying in.
The next image shows a radio, this could be the device she uses to communicate to the player, but they are scattered over the island and so she can only speak to the player in certain locations.
Below shows a woman speaking into a mans ear, this is to further emphasize that it will be someone communicating to you through voice. I was also thinking of making the voice and the mysterious man these entities of good and evil, whilst confusing the player with who is who.
Interface
There is not going to be any interface within the game as to allow the player to have a more realistic experience and to allow them to experience and enjoy the games visual and gameplay aspects.
Perspective
The perspective of the game is going to be set in first person, as you can see below there are images of a first person perspective from multiple games.
FMV
I am considering whether to create an FMV cutscene or trailer for my video game, depending on whether I have the time and can learn the skills then I will attempt to include one or the other for my video game to make it better.
Extra information
Below are multiple ideas of how I first planned out my game, It shows off my inspiration and what I thought about doing with the game before settling for the type of game I want. It has also allowed me to brainstorm mechanics that could be featured within game and get a general basis on how it will run.

Furniture will be part of the towns homes.
There are going to be more intractable objects such as books, mugs, sticks, etc. And the objects will differ from each area to meet their aesthetics.

Basic Story + Mechanics ideas
I want my game to be quite mysterious in what the player experiences throughout the game and so I have created some ideas for story elements that could be implemented into the game, one idea is to have a message written to you but without knowing who its from to start the game.
Everybody has disappeared
A huge part of my ideas were to implement these meteorites onto the island, the meteorites could have several mechanics fixed that can be triggered by the player. One idea was that the meteorites could cause a cutscene that allows the player to see into the past before everyone went missing off of the island. Another idea was the meteorites could allow for the spirits of dead people to be seen and either their memories are played from before the incident or they speak to the player giving detail on what happened before the incident.

Game title
I have decided to try and use the latin language within my game and so I have attempted to come up with a games name using the language as well. Although I have not finished thinking about what it should be called, these are some of the ideas that I have thought about using:
